Farah’s Discovery of the Superyacht Industry
Born and raised on Sint Maarten, Farah’s journey to the marine industry began shortly after high school when she was a Guest Services Coordinator at Simpson Bay Marina. Realizing that she wanted to remain in yachting, Farah went to the Netherlands to get a degree in Business Administration. During her time at school, Farah returned every summer to work at Isle de Sol Marina.
After graduation, Farah joined the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta team and later worked in Sales and Reservations at Port de Plaisance Marina. Her path eventually led her to Dockside Management, where she found her true calling in the fast-paced, high-pressure environment she thrives in.
“It’s dynamic, demanding, and exactly the kind of work I love,” Farah says.
The Heart of Yacht Concierge
Farah was hesitant to join a yacht agency due to the fast pace and pressure, but a friend’s suggestion prompted her to try, and she has never regretted it. Farah discovered a dynamic environment where she could grow, take on challenges, and deliver exceptional results for clients.
“The role pushed me out of my comfort zone. I discovered a fast-paced, rewarding environment where I could really thrive.”
Overcoming Challenges
Yacht concierge work comes with high client expectations, often requiring immediate action in regions where logistics can be tricky. Farah emphasizes the importance of strong supplier relationships and constant communication.
“It’s a lot less glamorous than people think. It’s high-pressure logistics and crisis management—but that’s what makes it exciting.”
Going Above and Beyond
Farah and her team take pride in delivering the impossible. From securing late-night liquor deliveries to arranging last-minute restaurant reservations in St. Barths, the team constantly exceeds expectations.
“We are often asked to do something nearly impossible—and we still make it happen. It is delivering these miracles that makes it all worthwhile!”
Outside of Work
Farah is an outdoors enthusiast who loves hiking and adventure. She also cherishes quality time with her daughter and maintains her energy with regular workouts—essential for keeping up with the demands of the high season.

Looking forward, Farah hopes to integrate more automation to enhance hospitality without losing the personal touch that makes Dockside’s concierge service exceptional.
